International Beverage Competition Secures Partnership with Global Drinks Intel

Global Drinks Intel has agreed an exclusive European media partnership with The Alcohol Professor and The International Beverage Competition Group.

The arrangement provides the B2B beverage alcohol platform with coverage of the IBC’s beer, wine, and spirits competitions around the world for its readership. In return, Global Drinks Intel will promote the competitions to its audience of retail, on-premise, and travel-retail buyers, wine and spirits producers and brand owners, financial analysts, and packaging and PR companies, as well as government and trade agencies in 120 markets worldwide.

“We’re really excited to team with the IBC in Europe,” said Global Drinks Intel’s COO & marketing director, Kate Wake-Walker. “Our website and monthly magazine’s reputations for quality are unparalleled, so any partners we work with have to have the same strong credentials as our coverage. We feel we’ve found those credentials in the IBC.”

Founded by ‘The Alcohol Professor’ Adam Levy, the IBC organizes competitions in New York, Berlin, Melbourne, and Asia that are judged solely by trade buyers. The judges consider the entries blind, by category and by price – as if they were buying for their import, distribution, hotel, retail store, or restaurant and bar business.

The New York International Spirits Competition launched 14 years ago and was followed by the New York International Wine and Beer Competitions.

“We were looking for a strong European media partner for the Alcohol Professor and the International Beverage Competitions and are thrilled to be working exclusively with Global Drinks Intel,” said Adam Levy. “With our trade buyer-focused international beer, wine & spirits competitions, it was a natural fit to partner with Global Drinks Intel.”

Global Drinks Intel provides independent, worldwide coverage of the beverage alcohol industry. At a time of unprecedented societal change, Global Drinks Intel aims to be the one-stop shop for the busy drinks executive, offering a mix of global news, category insights and data, analysis, commentary and high-level interviews.

The IBC Prosumer web platforms include editorial outlets, Alcohol Professor, Cheese Professor and the Chocolate Profesor, all of which feature news and profiles, in addition to showcasing best-in-category award winners.
